Lowrance Elite Review

Every aspect of this chartplotter/fishfinder is designed to be easy to use so you can concentrate on catching fish.

You will appreciate the bright LED display that is easy to read in low light when fish are most active.

Its lightweight construction and compact size are perfect for use in small spaces, and allow you to pack it with the rest of your gear.

With the built in GPS antenna and preloaded US maps you can find your way to the best fishing spots and back to the marina even on unfamiliar water.

Some consumers have noted that the button response can be slow, and while this can be frustrating the same reviews also mentioned that this did not detract from the overall quality of the Elite due to its low price and other outstanding features.

Our Review

Whether you are casting in a favorite spot or trying your luck at a new one the last thing you want to do is struggle to make your chartplotter/fishfinder work. Not only is this frustrating it can also be unsafe, especially if you are on unfamiliar water. This is not a problem with the Elite from Lowrance, since it is designed to be easy and convenient to use. The clearly marked controls make it easy to navigate through the menu, and since it can display several pages at once it only takes seconds to find and choose the settings you want.

The display might be small, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t still easy to see. The LED screen is backlit so you can easily see it in low light, which is often when the fish are most active. The backlighting also won’t frighten fish away, which is always an advantage.

Since you don’t always have the luxury of a lot of room when you are fishing, especially in a boat the Elite has a lightweight and compact design that allows you to use it almost anywhere. The small stand allows you to see the display and keep both hands on the fishing pole, and its compact size allows it to fit almost anywhere. You will also appreciate its durable, waterproof construction that is backed by a one year limited warranty.
