4 Best Fish Recipes for the Grill

There are hundreds of ways in which fish can be cooked on the grill. If you’re looking for some of the best recipes, here is a list of dishes that are a real culinary delight and will amaze all of your guests. Grilling fish might be one of the most refreshing methods of enjoying this healthy food, especially in the summer but it might also be one of the hardest methods since fish can fall apart during the process or it can get burned easily.

First of all, it is recommended to keep the skin of the fish on (if it doesn’t come skinned) and choose a kind of fish that can face the heat from the grill. Also, for cooking, you should use a wooden plank. Besides looking fancy, it gives the fish a nice subtle smoky flavor. The plank has to be soaked in water 2 hours before starting the grill.

Secondly, the fish should be cooked on direct heat. For preventing the fish from getting burned, experts say the heat shouldn’t be very high, and the grill needs to be squeaky clean. If you choose to cook a fillet – the most common option -, make sure it is meaty and thick. Some of the best options for grilled fish would be salmon, halibut, and snapper. Flounder or tilapia, which are thinner, tend to overcook.

Furthermore, the grill is also an important factor. Using a gas grill is more common for cooking fish because it gives you full control over the temperature.
